Dutch Companies Move Into EPIC

Torbay’s Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) continues to grow with the arrival of VTEC Lasers & Sensors from the Netherlands. The business will also be joined by parent companies 2M Sensors and Dutch Persistence, both of which are also foreign-owned.

VTEC have taken a large unit on Floor 2 of EPIC, close to Bay Photonics which is likely to result in excellent collaboration opportunities between the two businesses. 

CEO Jan Mink will be attending the upcoming Torbay Hi-Tech Cluster networking session to meet more of the businesses located within the rich local supply chain. Speaking about the move to EPIC, Jan Mink said: "I'm looking forward to setting up our facility at EPIC and interacting closely with the businesses in the area. I'm hopeful that VTEC can establish itself within this region and access funding to support our planned growth."

Commenting on the move EPIC Centre Director, Wayne Loschi said: “It is exciting to welcome another name into the centre and great to see VTEC join our other Dutch-owned tenant, EFFECT Photonics. There are several links between Torbay and the Netherlands, and this is something we hope to grow with the existing relationship EPIC has with the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC).”

VTEC Lasers and Sensors is an innovation solutions company specialising in optics and data integration to create customised systems for a wide variety of industries, including fitness, telecommunication, manufacturing, environmental, and communications.
