Open House Event a Great Success
EPIC hosted its very first Open House event last month to support and encourage collaboration between its tenants.
The event, hosted in socially distanced surroundings, enabled tenants to deliver presentations to other businesses housed within the centre. During the day, ten of EPIC’s twelve businesses showcased their technology and areas of expertise.
EPIC tenants are prominent in several markets including the medical, military/aerospace, telecoms and defence sectors. Their products and services are sold to high profile clients across the globe including the European Space Agency (ESA), Ministry of Defence (MoD), Samsung, Huawei, Seagate and even the BBC. These are just some of the names that EPIC tenants are allowed to disclose.
Centre Director, Wayne Loschi, was encouraged by the success of the event “It was fascinating to hear about all the innovation that is happening within EPIC. I always knew we had some amazing businesses here but it was fantastic to learn even more about how they all operate”.
A key objective of EPIC is to encourage collaboration and for tenants to work together. EPIC has exciting plans to host more internal events in the upcoming months as restrictions are further relaxed. The hope is businesses will identify ways of collaborating on future projects, submitting joint funding bids and even sharing equipment and resource.
Since opening in autumn 2019, EPIC has welcomed 12 businesses into the centre and is now 70% occupied. EPIC now has just 13 units left available with several already under offer. If you are interested in becoming a tenant at EPIC and accessing >£2M worth of prototyping capability, a classified cleanroom and the opportunity to collaborate with industry specialists located within the centre, please contact [email protected] .
